Can anyone identify what car this petrol gauge was used in?

It's a Smiths gauge so almost certainly from a British car and from the style probably about 1930.

The most significant factor is that the car almost certainly had a scuttle mounted petrol tank because this gauge is not electrical. It has a little chain attachment that must have coupled to a float mechanism.

Any information about this gauge would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Peter
