Hi
Without some official evidence of the vehicles identity and age, you will end up with a Q plate and have to pay for road tax ! The DVLA have no way of tracing a chassis number
The solution is to either get a Heritage Certificate or, you will find on the DVLA website a list of clubs approved to confirm a vehicle identity.

The 12 digit number you mention is the VIN/chassis number! If it's on a plate on the passenger A post then it's most likely an A35. The prefix will depend on the model.
AS4 - A30 4 door
A2S4, A30 2 door
AS5 - A35 4 door
A2S5 - A35 2 door.
It should be reasonably straightforward to get an age related plate with the chassis number. I'd start by joining the owners club, they have a good DVLA guy who knows his stuff _________________ Richard Hughes |
