Hi
I have this mascot but not sure if it's an accessory or from an actual car maker.
Just to say I do run and own a website obzolete.com if this is a problem I will end this post but I do always need help to identify parts. |

That reminds me of a Cicada, a large beetle we used to see a lot in Malaya and Borneo. |

I've seen one similar to this on Ebay a while ago but it was a bird and was listed as a bug deflector. I suppose a bit of dry humour using a bug to deflect bugs:)

It's got a threaded hole at the bottom which you can just see in the picture, it's 4 inches long or 100 CM |

Perhaps an after market accessory aimed at Wolseley Wasp owners.

Looking at your pictures on your website, it reminds me of an Art Deco "bug" ash tray...often done as flies etc. Maybe the screw thread held the legs on...?
Just a thought... |

I have something similar in brass with a set of legs scewed on the base. I actually think it is a 'Vesta' (ornamental case for matches). |
