Link to eBay from the top of the page shows a new build special with fibre glass bodywork & a Pinto engine,c/w wide alloy wheels & not much more info.
It's listed as a 1938 car & tax & MOT free. Surely this wasn't what was intended by the pre 1960 built exemption? It doesn't give any info re gearbox or axles but I'd be surprised if there are enough parts to tot up to keep the original reg number never mind anything else. It's listed as an Austin but has a Ford engine with other parts from who knows where. It also states a registration document is present - maybe so, but not for the vehicle that now is.Cheers,JD.

That does seem to be outwith the spirit of the MOT exemption legislation. Looks a sound enough car and would not be an everyday driver. Might be hard to insure.

Well the front suspension isn't Austin. If it has a Pinto engine the back axle can't be either, it would snap.
They used to reckon you could turn an Austin 7 into a Type 35 Bugatti by gradually altering components, 6 re-registers were supposed to be enough
