Slowly doing each panel on my vogue with G3, assessing the condition as i go (hoping the the only paint needed will be bonnet and wing tops).
bit of advice please.
when using the G3 compound, what (if anything) should i use to lubricate the compound..read on a few detailing forums that a good detailer (silicon free) does the trick and affords a better result?

any advice/experience?

Hi Kev

I use G3 straight out of the tin, it gets rid of most of my painting errors !!!

I always use a damp cloth (well rung out) or if I use my machine I wet the foam pad first.

A flower spray is also handy if using a machine, you don't want to generate any heat.

Cheers

Hi Kev,
Have a look on the farecla website who make G3 at:

http://www.farecla.co.uk/video-tutorials

Using water depends on conditions in your workshop/ garage, I try not to use water as it reduces the cutting properties of the compound, however if it's hot the compound tends to dry up as you use it so a splash keeps it going, also don't use too much G3, little and often is the best application
