they still keep turning up ! found this on a travellers site , its a 1938 Winchester Wagon only made for two years it was a copy of the pan loaf style ,American caravan , lots of winchester touches like a bath in the floor hand wash basin, a drying closet , the roof is clad in steel the sides in oil board !
I have found some wheels for the van and will be moving it to my yard in the next day or two,

Good find! a few more years outside in that state would have seen it off for good.

You're wrong there OVM. With your flair for exterior paint scheme design it will look absolutely art-deco-fantastic.

Being a member of the HCC has its advantages , contact was made with a fellow member who has copies of Winchester caravans, works ledgers
Turns out only nine of these vans made, all built to the owners spec i.e. different lengths , internal layouts etc ,
The van I have looks to have been made for a Mr Pedley this gentleman was the chairman of the Caravan Club and was well know in caravanning circles , he also helpted start up Mr lyons of Jaguar cars fame
so a bit of history behind this old wreck Very Happy
