they still keep turning up ! found this on a travellers site , its a 1938 Winchester Wagon only made for two years it was a copy of the pan loaf style ,American caravan , lots of winchester touches like a bath in the floor hand wash basin, a drying closet , the roof is clad in steel the sides in oil board !

I have found some wheels for the van and will be moving it to my yard in the next day or two,

Yes i know what your saying

Good points, its all there , the floor, chassis, two thirds of the frame are good,

also i like the layout, very practical,

The shape interesting, not what you think of for a 30s van

And i have a Ford Pilot v8, make a nice outfit ! ovm |

				| You're wrong there OVM. With your flair for exterior paint scheme design it will look absolutely art-deco-fantastic. |

Being a member of the HCC has its advantages , contact was made with a fellow member who has copies of Winchester caravans, works ledgers

Turns out only nine of these vans made, all built to the owners spec i.e. different lengths , internal layouts etc ,

The van I have looks to have been made for a Mr Pedley this gentleman was the chairman of the Caravan Club and was well know in caravanning circles , he also helpted start up Mr lyons of Jaguar cars fame

so a bit of history behind this old wreck |
