Should be on 4OD Rick, I caught most of the last series that way. Well worth watching if only to give you ideas for making best use of space in your shed, though the last series had several interesting restoration/conversion projects including a coach, a horsebox and one or two caravans. These things are often done to a high standard of craftsmanship as well which I know appeals to lots of us on this forum |

Probably the most impractical conversion ever. Nowhere to store clothes, food, toys or even the dog's basket. No on-board washing or toilet facilities and to convert from day to night the back doors had to be opened. There's no way a family of six plus dog could ever holiday in it. I reckon it'll be on Ebay within a year.
With the combined weight of the interior furniture plus six people and their kit (if they can ft it in) it's going to be a very sluggish motorhome. |

We thought the same we have a hard jib sometimes with just two of us and two dogs in the cheltenham and after what they spent they could have bought loads of things but it was cute _________________ 1968 Volvo Amazon estate (Gracie)

I've just looked at this on iplayer, and could not believe what I heard!
I know that I live in the past, but the money talked about in that clip is unbelievable!
She's planning on spending £12,800, and at the end, they'll have an old uncomfortable mobile traffic jam that will be no use to man or beast.
I did this conversion thirty years ago, and it was no good then, so in today's traffic it will be positively dangerous, particularly if it has a diesel engine.
I ditched mine and did a V4 transit ambulance instead, bought for £20 from the local authority, and spent probably £100 converting it. That slept a family of two adults and two teenagers (girl and boy).
That was OK, and we had a lot of fun with it, but an LD? No thank you!
Btw, I think there might be one like that in a field near me. £2000 anyone, and I'll get it out! |
