In a word, no, I am not.

[/]

I have owned several cars where the registration numbers either add up to or can be calculated to the number thirteen and it hasn't bothered me one jot.

When the restoration of my Mark 2 was completed in 1996 I received a substantial offer for it by a wealthy businessman in the Midlands. I said that I would consider it and he took some photos to show his wife.

Two days later he telephoned me rather agitated and told me that his wife had pleaded with him not to buy it.
The reason :

[]

OJC 431.

She had worked out 4 x 3 = 12 + 1 = 13!

[/]

And that was one of the best cars I have owned.

*Before anybody notices the pressed aluminium plate for my Mark 2 and makes a comment - they were bought as a birthday present for me by my nephew and they have NEVER been fitted*!

I'm no expert but there are definitely pansies in that top photo. Did wonder if my memory was at fault but google images agrees, and without anything unsavoury coming up on the screen to boot Smile

13.... My plate has the digits 541. Add them together and you get 10, Subtract the last digit from the second gives 3. Add that to 10 and you get 13. Spooky, huh?

Very Happy Other than that, I would guess Jensen 541 owners might be well interested in your plate!

AAGH! I've just realised (after 5 years ownership) that my Volvo plate adds up to 13.
Will it still be safe to drive, now that I know about it? Confused

Hi
I thought the whole idea of adding digits in numbers was to get down to a single digit, so even those 13s then become 4.

No as I drove dad's Vauxhall many times and it was super reliable.

666 is another number that seems to freak out some people.

All sorts of jiggling with numbers can create 666. Take my birthdate

22-04-1946 2+4 =6 2+4 = 6 9+1-4 = 6 (2+1) + (2+1) =6

so utter nonsense.

Add the horizontal numbers on a roulette table results in 6.

First is 123 = 6

It's many years since I've been there but internal flights in China used to be interesting because of the age and condition of the aircraft. I think it was at Beijing airport that I looked out of the plane window and noticed that the control tower had 666 painted on it in large black letters!

We have a bus route 666 between Ashford and Faversham. All the buses have a little 'Devil' emblem on them. Of course there were some complaints from the terminally pious. But to no avail I'm glad to say.

That's there for the pilots Peter, when they are coming in to land. If they see 999 they know they're upside down, cheers,JD.
