Hi Guys,
I am new here and new to classic cars. I have bought a couple of cars at auction and was approached within a week by two separate people who took them off my hands at a tidy profit. I now have a budget of £50k thanks to my lucky buys. Was thinking about a Wolsey Hornet and found this one.

Cheers

The only small contribution I can make is to say that Cox & Turner have a pretty good reputation as engine reconditioners I believe.

That looks like a good example at a fair price. I've never driven one but the Daytona should be able to keep up with modern traffic although its no ball of fire with 0-60 in 22 secs and a top speed of 76mph.
One thing that doesn't help the acceleration times is the lack of synchromesh. The Hornet does have synchro on third and top although you might need to recondition the box to get it but you will always have a slow change first to second.
Hydraulic brakes are plus point. I think the Hornet has a central throttle pedal so a real taste of vintage fun.

p.s. I see it has a freewheel fitted. That should help.
