I need to replace my 1948 Fordson E83W steering column, as the upper bearing has disintegrated and some clown of a previous owner has attempted repairs with a stick welder.

I have been offered a steering column from the US, and am wanting to confirm whether the E83W exported for the LHD market used the same steering box as the RHD market (but bracketed to the right of the left chassis rail), or whether there was a specific LHD steering box used which mounted to the outside of the left chassis rail.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
