Brings back fond memories of cleaning rear windows, de-greasing them, wiping with meths, waiting for a sunny day to fit it, and then mounting it straight, finding a route for the wires, realising the dynamo wasn't up to it, fitting an alternator, then watching the thing fall out of the rear screen!
In the Mini and the Escort, I fitted a later window with the wires in it, once bitten, twice shy.

Hi,these are good but very difficult to fit & not have little creases in the wires across the screen. I have one in my Triumph which has a fairly flat screen but I gave up trying to fit one in the Zephyr because of the compound curves in the rear screen. They work OK when fitted but a lot slower than modern built into the glass types - much lower powered. They are also vulnerable to damage(when wiping the rear screen) but so far I have managed repairs using the remains of the Zephyr one, cheers,JD.

Years ago I fitted one to a Renault 4, which had flat glass and it was quite effective, but it was only a small rear screen on a 4. I was always careful when loading the car not to catch it.

Remember the 'double glazing, plastic oval' that was used?
