A few weeks ago we found ourselves near Loughborough, looking to find somewhere to park up and have a buttie.

Seeing signs for a farm attraction (only), we headed to Mountsorrel. We were pleasantly surprised to also find a collection of old tractors, petrol pumps, signs and a few unusual vehicles parked in the yard. Many (mainly pre-war) gems were also to be found within the nearby museum buildings.

For anyone with a taste for early vehicles (many pre-war Austins, motorcycle & sidecar combinations, a Vauxhall 30/98 and much more besides) this is well worth a visit, the memorabilia alone is great.

Sadly I didn't have my camera with me, so a return visit will have to be made.

A few years ago yes. I had thought of making a visit last week, when we took a ride on the steam engine, but time was against us on that trip. We'd also like a ride on the horse-drawn canal boat.

Hi Kev, I have been going to Llangollen for the mountain bike racing my son competes in and love the place.
Always take a walk to the museum, and there’s a garage that has a few Lotus Elans, and what’s the storey with the closed down garage opposite the car park with the remains of an old illuminated RAC sign hanging out side?- last year tried to have a peak through the doors and there are still old tools on the wall.

Anyway you are lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country

We always go to watch the downhill, nutters!!
The garage with the lotus and caterhams in is kendricks, the do motorsport im told.
The garage on the corner has been derilict for years, waiting to get planning for redevelopment no doubt.
The garage where the petrol station is now on the A5 used to have a few new, old stock later fords in the showroom, the owner was quite eccentric and wouldnt sell them
