I have just been sent this photo of a chassis plate from a 1950's caravan and can find no mention of this company in any of my caravan books.
It reads:
The Holder Graiseley
The Holder Chassis Company
Heath Town, Wolverhampton
There was a Mr Holder who built the Paladin caravans and then joined Bluebird Caravans but both these companies were in the Bedfordshire area.
Any ideas anyone. _________________ Brian

Not a lot to go on, but maybe a start. Local archives could provide more info.
I could not find a Holder Graiseley incorporated company.
Church Lane was in an area known as Heath.
Graiseley Motor Accessories, Ltd.,
Church Lane, Wolverhampton
Company No: 162346;
Incorporated in 1920. Dissolved between 1920 and 1932
Some trade press extracts suggest that the company produced items that were cast and or machined, which may fit in with parts required to build a chassis and hitch.
Most of Church Lane has now vanished under Ring Road

Thanks for those replies.
I am told the caravan on this chassis dates from the mid 1950's so it would seem the electric cart company turned out caravan chassis as well.
Does anyone know of any other caravans using this chassis? _________________ Brian
