Sounds like a good venue for an old-car meet (PR):
---------------
New venue for Seaton Tramway's ever popular Classic Car Show at Seaton.
Seaton Tramway, the unique heritage tramway and tourist attraction in the Heart of Lyme Bay, is once again providing a special day of transport
therapy by holding its popular annual Classic Car Show on Sunday 8th June, which attracts an array of historic vehicles and trade stands.
The event will be held this year from 10.00am until 5.00pm on The Esplanade between Trevelyan Road and Beach Road, on the Seafront at Seaton, where many classic vehicles will be lined up to delight the eye and enthral enthusiasts and visitors alike. This year classic cars, motorcycles and tractors will be joined by a commercial section of buses, lorries and vans, with trophy presentations by a mystery guest to winning entrants at 4.30pm.
The trade stands will be based at Colyton, just a tram ride away, so there
will be plenty of opportunity for tram rides on the unique fleet of tram
cars between 10.00am and 5.00pm. In addition there will be the popular
Driver's Eye "learn to drive a tram" Experience and wonderful food in the
Garden Room at the Tramstop Café at Colyton station. Here Brian Shaw, a vintage entertainer will be performing in World War 2 uniform at intervals between 11.00am and 3.00pm. His repertoire comprises hits from the 1940s including a selection of classic Vera Lyn 'sing-along' songs.
All visitors will receive 'Explorer' tickets, which provide all day
unlimited tram travel, and they can make as many journeys as they wish, with the bonus of being able to hop on and hop off at any station and ride on any number of fascinating trams from the oldest to the newest. Our gift shop at Colyton Station is an Aladdin's cave stocked with a variety of exciting gifts, confectionery, local produce, books and Tramway souvenirs to suit all pockets and interests.
Remember, also, that children under three accompanied by an adult travel free, and children under sixteen accompanied by an adult pay just half the adult ticket price.
What better way to spend the day of the Classic Car Show to explore the
Jurassic Coast at Seaton and the townships of Colyford and Colyton, as well as the River Axe Estuary and Axe Estuary Wetlands with all the amazing wildlife to be seen than from the open top deck of an electric tram.
Tickets can be purchased at the Seaton Terminus and Colyton Station ticket offices (or online at: www.tram.co.uk ) _________________ Rick - Admin
