The film. Having staggered back from Winchester with a new (to me) freezer which will hopefully reduce my leccy bill by not running continuously, I flopped in front of the telly with wine.
Grand Prix was on. ! 1/2 litre cars yes? I may be a fuddy duddy, but I think these are far more interesting to watch than modern cars. I don't watch current grand prix, it seems to just be a procession. With the old cars I like the lack of wings, gear levers, proper driving. I know they didn't have much power but I don't care at all, the racing was much better. Plus the drivers did saloon cars races too.
Some modern things are ok, like safety. I don't think tweed suits are the best thing for fire marshals.
I wonder if there are any more fuddy duddies around?

All the more poignant as the death of James Garner was announced earlier today.

He was a handy driver himself by all accounts.

I still watch modern-day GP, and yesterday's race in Germany had some good tussles. The 1.5 litre doesn't grab me all that much tbh, I prefer the earlier front-engined era, and then that of the 1970s and 1980s when designers were coming up with all manner of car designs.
