Yes, I am pleased with the work done. I should get the finished car back tomorrow, snow permitting (it is all green grass here at the moment) and I will post a couple of pictures of the final job.
Both jobs were probably within my capabilities, but realistically I felt that the car was worth the investment in some professional assistance.
There are still a couple of jobs that I shall be tackling when it comes home and then its next MOT in March. After that, hopefully we'll be good for some Spring motoring. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

Yes, I know what you mean, I am extremely fond of it too. It attracts quite a few stares when I am out and about. I spent some time in Denmark and Norway in the late Seventies when they were still numerous, but it is quite unlikely these days that most people in the UK will have actually seen another, since they have largely disappeared now from Scandinavian and North European roads.
I wonder how many UK registered examples there actually are. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

I think that the export market to the States in the 50's and 60's probably means that the PV was a more familiar sight over there and survivors seem to be relatively plentiful..
Since most examples sold in the US seem to have been the twin carb variant, they were able to build on their motorsport successes and market them fairly successfully as a small sports saloon with decent performance and handling and cheaper on fuel than the home grown stuff of the day. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

Excellent. I wonder how many of the very earliest models survive? _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

Here are a furthers election of images of the car undergoing its recent makeover (only just received them from the restorer).
Windscreen refitted.
Finished stone chipped and painted boot.
Waiting in the sun for its owner. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

Just as a matter of interest, did they ever produce a RHD version? |

No, even though Sweden drove on the left until around 1966. I assume that they were focussed on exports and the car was deemed too expensive at the time for the UK market. The Amazon was the first Volvo exported in RHD format as far as I am aware.
However, I have seen an article on line in which a 544 was converted to RHD for motorsport purposes. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction
