So eventually the engine was all back together, reinstalled in the car ... and then we had the Covid lockdown, so there's very little to report. The engine is running fine, all nice and quiet, but then it was before it all went wrong!
I've been out a few times - an oil change after 150 miles, with another planned at 500 miles, as the car is not fitted with a full-flow filter system, just a gauze filter rather like an Austin Seven.
I've done a few minor things, like fitting an audible buzzer to the flashers, as they are not self-cancelling, and connected up the hand-throttle which had been non-operational since I got the car, but for now let's hope I can just enjoy driving it!

Didn't have you down as a Hubnut, Rick???
You'd have noted my '67 Mustang as well then, if you've watched it through to the end?
Toss-up between taking that, or the Dellow. Only less than 40 miles from me, only went because it was free!
Nice, road-legal , driving, Alvis saloon as well...all nice n tatty too.
Oily rag? Or Tatty?
Which description 'sounds' more acceptable to the hoi-polloi? _________________ Dellow Mk2, 1951 built, reg 1952.

Ah that was yours eh? I liked the look of the Alvis although didn't see much of it in his vid, yes I watch some of HN although most of it is too new for me really.

Your Volvo is newer than the Mustang......?
Personally , I think it's the 'attitude' towards [any] vehicles that is Hubnut...
Its the enthusiasm.. _________________ Dellow Mk2, 1951 built, reg 1952.

I've only just caught up with the recent comments on this thread. Yes, it was my car at the recent Hubnut gathering.
I agree, Rick, the cars are rather modern to be really interesting, but I enjoy his fettling sessions which remind me of my youthful attempts at maintaining elderly cars with minimal expense and facilities. And after all, the cars Ian is working on are of a similar age to the Austin Sevens that I was working on in the 'sixties! _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline
