Hi,
Can anybody recommend a good indoor car caver? I see a few on ebay but you don't know what they are like. Need one that stops condensation,

Cheers,
Steve

I doubt there are any covers that stop condensation forming. The only way around this I found when storing the Motor Cycle for a long period, was a large polythene bag, with enough air removed from it to provide a close fit, and moisture absorbing sachets placed inside it. The best option is to maintain the temperature in the garage, either cold or warm.

A few thin cotton sheets and a dehumidifier might work?

I have so quickly become aware of this problem with the little car which is the fruit of 5 years of my labour, that I am seriously looking at buying a "Carcoon" as recommended here previously on another thread.
Big money compared with a simple cover, but looks like it would really keep a car clean and dry.

May I suggest you save your money and buy a decent de humidifier. In my opinion, it's an essential piece of garage equipment.

One point regarding a heated garage. Yes, it's good for keeping steel free from rust and condensation (helps the dehumidifier work more efficiently)but it can have a devastating effect on a timber frame car; drying it out too much.

Yes, it's that time of year:-

Going up!

Now that's better!

I've had this one a few years now and am delighted as to how, in an unheated wooden garage, it has protected the car from deterioration. However, I'd buy the Veloce next time since once up, it stays up whereas with the Evo it is packed away for the season. Laziness I know, but practical with it.

ETA:- what you can't see in this photo are the silica bags - 1kg each - which are in the bubble but hidden from view.

I have heard about these things but never actually seen one before. ( I must get a life!). Does it use an electric pump? I am sure it is cheaper than having your lovely Jag go rusty but just how much does it cost to run please?

I suggest you have a look at their website Ray, since there are a few models and they turn up regularly used on Ebay. There are two 12 volt fans in the rear end (as you look at my photos) with foam filters to keep the dust out. The system has a transformer and also a battery conditioner, which also serves to provide a temporary electricity supply if there is a power cut. Nice touch that. There are two flaps at the other end to open if you put the car away damp, and you close them once the car has dried out, which it does very effectively without the need to heat the garage. I wash the filters each spring and put them away until winter, and they are extremely effective at keeping the car clean. As regards costs, I reckon on pennies per week since I've not noticed any appreciable difference in my annual bill. I am looking for another at the moment for the other car, which needs it less since the body is alloy, not steel. Still, the rest needs protecting!

ETA You'll note the hood is up and clipped to the rail. Keeps it properly taut and stops the rear plastic window from deteriorating.
