A unique vehicle built by Mercedes to collect data in vehicle testing.

This site is written in German but information abut the vehicle can be found via a google search on "mercedes-benz-300-messwagen"

The option to build such a complex 1 off vehicle, and not using a truck, I find rather puzzling.

It also shows the advances in technology, when today so much data can be transmitted without the need for cables.

I wonder if brake testing was included with this rig. ?
