A nice fresh header to the OCC site. Love the car graphic, but perhaps the "Old Classic Car" text size is a few points too large. I find the main page header more subtle.

............ but it is Rick's site and Rick does a great job in providing a lot of folks with hours of free entertainment, a treasure trove of knowledge and likely creating many friendships.

Hi
Your post prompted me to go over to the mainsite.
Lovely Bristol there today as photo of the day.
While there I looked down the LH side whats new column and saw thew E83 on the swedish lake, I must have missed it in December.

Did they offset the engine to the right when LHD?
I have seen the twin starting handle apertures, the similar sized/aged Morris didn't have 2 apertures

Yep the engine was offset to the other side in LHD E83Ws, hence the grille with two openings to suit either LHD or RHD vehicles. The very first vans though just had a single aperture.

But where has the Rover page gone from the your cars section? One of the UKs greatest car makers and one of the last major ones to go. shame on you that you couldn't find room for it. Steve

"Shame on you"???? Well excuse me.

The Rover-only category was removed last year because it rarely saw any activity. I'm sure you spotted the thread I had running, on this very subject, prior to its removal:

http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/forum/phpbb/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16516

The threads that were in there were rolled into the All Other Cars section, no posts or threads have gone. If it had seen more use, of course I'd have left it. If there's a sudden upsurge in posts relating to classic Rovers, then of course I'll re-instate it, but lately that's been far from the case. The MG category was also removed for the same reason.

I second that. Rick allows us to express opinions, it is our responsibility to be civil and in the end it is Rick's decision

Can I also say how crisp the new header is, Rick.

Sometimes disagreements become heated on forums and an intervention is called for. Fortunately, a flare up can often pass as quickly as it started. This happened recently and I think you held back.

It must be a difficult decision to make without stifling a debate. Compared with other forums I think you do a good job.

That's been true for as long as I've been a member.

Sorry Rick as you say its your site but to points one. It was said tongue in cheek and two. No I didn't see your thread maybe on account that in the last year I've spent 5 months in hospital after a serious lorry accident which as well as the ten major operations I've had I've unfortunately lost my lower left leg and might yet loose the rest so sorry have been a bit out of touch.

Sorry to hear what you've been through P3.

Changes to the forum such as this aren't made lightly, because yes it can meet with disapproval. And as mentioned, can always be reversed if at some point in time re-instatement is deemed worthwhile.

I hope 2015 proves to be a much better year than '14 for you.
