Hi all,
I found myself at Cosford again today, and what should be being delivered but a VC10, currently in the process of being dismantled at Bruntingthorpe and moved to Cosford for re-assembly and display.
As a nipper I remember the BA VC10 (G-ARVM) that used to be displayed at the RAFM. It'll be good to see this replacement on show, presumably sat on the concrete blocks in the ground where 'VM once resided.

We popped down to Cosford for the afternoon on Sunday.
On display were a number of "good luck" mascots, mostly from WW2, which I thought might be of interest

Just to update things, it was good to see the VC10 all back together again, in its new home.

A few snaps of a Boulton Paul Defiant being re-assembled at Cosford, up from Hendon I believe.
Hiding behind one of the hangars is this dismantled Hunter, coming or going I'm not sure (I don't recall seeing it before).
Interesting old Crossley also seen:

HYi
According to Wiki there is one at Cosford XL568.
I think it appears in your first lot of pics suspended above the Victor's cockpit.
I would say that is a different one, but can't quite make out the numbers. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

There's also one close to the entrance some way away from the museum, the reg. of which I forget and I'm not sure I've ever parked up there to grab a photo of it This one behind the hangar though I think is a new arrival.

I think the Defiant is a beautiful aircraft, I remember having the airfix model! Wouldn't it be a wonderful job working there. _________________ 1937 Ford 7w

It always pays to look in the wrong places, today a Harrier was spotted during a loading routine.
