It has just been announced that anyone who uses tools or works on their classic car in public environment (for example a show) will have to have passed a competency course and carry a lanyard certificate at all times as part of public liability insurance.
This will be implemented for the start of 2016 and arrangements have been made for the courses to be run at Halford garages so that there is a nationwide coverage for people taking the course.
The anticipated cost for the two hour course is £150.00 and this will include a 15% discount on any tools that are missing from the candidates recommended list.
Guess I won't be going to any shows next year! _________________ 2013 Dodge Durango R/T Hemi

Its worse than that, any tool found at a show that doesn't carry a EU approval or a BS Kite mark, will be confiscated and destroyed by the show owners, who now have a legal obligation to perform this task.

It's a bad day all round since the Telegraph reported that one of the Conservatives' more obscure proposals if elected in May is that they will try to introduce a rationing system for fuel in cars before 1973. This is to counter the claims from Environmentalists that these cars, whilst enjoying tax concessions are significantly more polluting than moderns. |

| Every year I see April Fool stories like this and worry that it's giving the b@$t@rd$ ideas. Some things you just shouldn't joke about. |
