We have discussed barn finds all over the place, but have you personally came across a genuine barn find. A few years ago my son and I and his pal came across an absolutely rotten Marina in a barn in Hurlford Ayrshire. All we could rescue from it was the seats and the carpets which were in very good condition. Its on you tube somewhere. Many "barn finds" advertised aren't genuine barn finds. I just wondered if anyone has come across a "genuine" barn find.

Took on this one and few years ago and didn't restore it but gave it enough missing parts to make it a bit more viable.

I've come across a few over the years. The Commer was found in a barn, where it had sat for about 45 years.

A pre-war Morris came out of a barn in Leicestershire, it had only been sat since the 1980s but was grubby enough to qualify for the term "barn find".

Only yesterday evening I went to look at a Moggy Minor, that had been stored in an open-fronted farm building for about 20 years or so.

So did you buy the minor Rick?? There is a "garage" find of a marina with 8000 on the clock on ebay at the moment. Garage finds could be classed the same as barn finds I suppose.

It was very very local so it had to be checked out, however it wasn't pretty underneath so I left it alone Smile

I've viewed a few proper barn finds over the years. Lorry wise I have found some real gems although my current Commer project was left in a field for 20 odd years before I bought it, would that be a 'Field Find'!?!

This Mk1 Mini in c1989 was more of a "garage find", but was in "barn find" condition - not sure if that counts or not!?

It may well still be there, one day I will return for another look Smile

Apologies for including this, because it isn't a motor vehicle and it wasn't found n a barn or shed. However, who would have turned their back on this because it wasn't a motor vehicle.

Hi
I make it £7,056,967,680 but I think the pprice of gold might drop if that amount come onto the market suddenly.
Then again there are people who would pay a premium for recovered nazi loot.
I suppose it depends on whether the gold market rules or the open collectors market does.

I don't know about that, there are stories that the number of steam engines scrapped plus the number in preservation don't add up to the stocklist totals known at the end of steam and there are some tunnels bricked up yet the trackbed leading to them has not been released back to neighbouring landowners.

Of coiurse this might just be urban myth or conspiracy theory.
