How many I wonder on the forum have a classic diesel. There cant be that many. Standard Vanguard or BMC. There cant be that many pre1960 diesel cars. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

Naturally aspirated diesel cars (which classics generally are) were so sluggish I'd imagine they would have been the first to have been scrapped, so a rarity these days.

Nothing like my current diesel with its 245 lbs-ft of torque but my first diesel was a Citroen BX with the 1.9litre. It was sans turbo but had a very light body (by modern standards. 900kg) and was very quick of the mark. It was great fun racing the Escort GTI boy racers. You changed up quickly from first to second and the torque took you up 50 mph and won the day.
