|
|
Dear members,
I am researching the prewar motoring history of the Kennet Valley, that is to say the area between Reading in Berkshire and Marlborough in Wiltshire. I am a Trustee of The Kennet Valley At War Trust which has a small but very well stocked museum within Littlecote House in Hungerford as well as a virtual museum online at www.kennetvalleyatwar.co.uk The Trustees are all volunteers and the museum is non profit.
We are expanding our scope of research to include the motoring history of the area and would like to appeal for help. Items of interest would include: photos of garages - both commercial and domestic - filling stations, cars, motorcycles, AA and RAC boxes etc. etc. Also, documents, written testimony and any other ephemera that you might be willing to share. We are at the very early stage but if we find enough good material may consider a small picture book for local consumption.
I look forward to hearing from anyone with anything of interest. Thank you.

Sorry everyone. A computer glitch meant that I was unable to see the previous almost identical appeal from yesterday. Presumably moderator will remove one for me ! |
