I need to have some brass metal parts painted in 2 pack automotive paint and i dont want it to fall off.
So the question is;
Do you need a special etch primer for non ferrous metal?
Im asking because, If so, I just want to check that my painter knows this .
Will the primer be available from an automotive paint supplier?
Is there a make or brand you can recommend?
Thanks

Etch primers are a bit old fashioned now. The one to use is epoxy primer. I like the Lechlar brand as it sprays out nicely. Jotun make on but is a bit thicker and is more work to flat back. _________________ Evans Waterless Coolants

Thanks for the reply. I used epoxy primer when i prepared my old Morris for the sprayer and its very good.
However, as you say, its a bit thick and so is not really suitable for the application I have in mind now. |
