Morning all,

Perhaps not the ideal car for a rain-sodden morning, such as welcomed us this morning on opening the curtains, but for a fine day, driving this six-cylinder Vauxhall would be a fine way to cruise the lanes and byways of the country - once fettled up.

I like the look of this, a great restoration project.

I agree with you Rick. In this part of the world old Vauhalls are rare - even down to Mk1 Astras. This must be super-rare

I particularly like the styling of the larger late 30's saloon models.

There certainly is a lot of early interest in it. I counted 9 different bidders in the first day.

I had a 14/6 back in 1960. Similar to that one but with spare wheel mounted on the boot, it might have been the Tickford model.
I had more fun with that car than any other I have owned. In spite of being 25 years old at the time it was totally reliable. The spares were available and cheap and I can only remember having to replace one exhaust valve, and one of the 'Dubonnet Knee' front suspension units when the mot came in. That was over two years of motoring.
If I had another restoration left in me I would buy it like a shot, just for the nostalgia.
