I am nostalgic for cars my family owned from 1945 - 1990 and have carried out several restorations over the years.
However having been recently diagnosed with a terminal illness ownership is no longer an option but I would love to find experience days where I can once again take the wheel of more mainstream classic cars for nostalgic reasons, cars like consuls, anglias, minis, A60, xr3i etc.
So many sites offering driving experiences only offer exotic cars which are of little interest to me. Please does anybody know of providers or hirers of what I would describe as bread and butter classics? |

It would really have to be a hire company because a private owner would need to cover you to drive on their insurance. There will be hire companies somewhere but they may be expensive and if you are really ill then insurance will be a problem. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

Hi Thanks yes I was expecting to have to hire a car - driving and insurance are not a problem as I am still medically fit to drive and insurers are not placing any loading on me. Just looking for any hire companies that might offer this. If there are none then so be it. Its something I thought there may be some demand for, after all the exotic vintage experience days are popular. |

Thanks for your suggestion but as I found, apart from a moggy 1000, none of the cars listed on the sites are the bread and butter models I was looking for that I used to drive 50 years ago. I am afraid Morgan's, stags and Astons were always beyond my reach! |

Another one to investigate, used by the BBC often enough, with a couple of more homely cars though not as many as used to be listed: http://www.greatescapecars.co.uk/ |
