The Volvo and I attended a Drive It Day run in West Lancs/Merseyside, organised by the Morris Register, but open to other classic car owners. The destination was at a Carvery Pub on the outskirts of Haydock (for lunch), and our starting point was at the Anchor in Lostock Hall, just south of Preston.
I had intended to go en Traction, but the organisers asked me if I would take the Volvo, there already being a Traction in the list of participants, and so old faithful was driven out on a chilly and showery day. We had around twelve cars starting from the Anchor, and we accumulated some more en route.
It was a relatively short run, probably around 25 miles, but that was perhaps as well, bearing in mind the unfriendly weather conditions. Unfortunately the rain poured down with even more vigour after we had all arrived and photography was not the order of the day, but I did manage to capture a few shots of the starters back at Lostock Hall.
