... ie cars that were bought as "classics" and that you no longer own, not cars that were bought as normal cars but later became "classics" (there are threads running for these period pics already).
I'll kick off with two photos from 2004 of a Nickri Champion I once had. Designed to be fitted to Ford Pop running gear, this one was bolted/bonded to a Herald chassis (hence the angle of the rear wheels). The chap I bought it off, who'd had it for donkeys, had always believed it to be a Falcon Caribbean, but it was in fact a Nickri, and as far as I know the only surviving Champion model.
It needed far more work than I'd initially thought so it went to someone who, I think, is a member on here. He put it back on the road but was talking of selling it on again a year or so back, so I've no idea where it is now. Maybe one day it'll find its way back here again.
I thought it was one of the nicer-looking Ford 1172 specials. My idea was to put it back on a Ford chassis, complete with 15" Ballamy wheels (which I had a set of) etc etc but best laid plans etc.

Here is a 1962 Ford Zephyr i purchased in 2005. I then spent 750 hours restoring it, mainly mechanical, with just small areas of corrosion. The paint work was very tired so I resprayed it in Cream/Wine, instead of the stark white it originally was.
I also fitted a Mklll head, six branch exhaust manifold, Mklll Borg Warner autobox, steering box & diff.
It has now lived in Granton on Spey since late 2008, although I do see it during the show season & keep in touch with the new owner, cheers,JD. _________________ 1958 Ford Zephyr Mk2 Convertible

Time to resurrect the "blasts from the past" thread, ie photos of classic vehicles that you no longer own.
This 35mm photo was taken in about 1995, to the left my S1 XJ12L and to the right, dad's S3 XJ12 HE.
I sold RAR 115L when 'erindoors and I were pooling £ together to buy our first house. It's been on ebay a couple of times over the last 10-12 years, and shows as SORN now, so hopefully it'll be restored and put back on the road.
As for C400 HFR, it shows as un-taxed since September 2003, so may well have been scrapped by now.

I've still got every classic I have ever owned except one...
My first morris minor traveller... we scrapped it because it became to rusty to use (as evidenced by the roof becoming seperated from the gutter, and lifting to show daylight when the front doors were slammed). It got broken for spares and cut up in about 2005/6.
If I had the knowledge and experience I have now... I would have fixed it |

Here is one of the Triumph Dolomite Sprints from my past.
This one was a great car which I really do regret selling. One previous lady owner before me from whom I bought the car privately with 40k miles and every receipt, invoice and bill from new.

I bought this 1.5 Alfasud in (I think) 1985 for £1100 and thought it was a really nice handling car even if the driving position was a bit Italianate for my frame.

My Pininfarina-bodied Appia, which I kept for about eight years - pretty good going by my standards, it has to be something special for me to keep more than around five years!

Bought in 1966, used quite a lot, and then fully restored in 1971/2 was our 1928 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan.
I managed over 200,000 miles in it including trips from Melbourne to Perth and Melbourne to Cairns- both while towing a trailer.
IMHO the Model A is an ideal Vintage era car for modern use, mine would do 70 m.p.h. even though the speed limit here is 100 k.p.h. (about 62 m.p.h.). It proved to be a rugged reliable and versatile car. I sold it on (1990) because at the time it needed some fairly major re-restoration, and I was not in a position to do it.
I had withdrawal symptoms for ten years until I acquired our first Rover P4. I still miss the A, but the Rovers are a much classier car.

Around the same time that Dane had his Ford, I bought this. It's a 1938 MG TA and a rotten car it was too, it cracked a block, I found another and it cracked that, it dropped a valve too and eventually I gave up with it. A few years later I got a huge parking fine from some London borough and a demand from DVLA for all the tax that hadn't been paid since I sold it!
