Do any of you use / like leather steering wheel covers?
I have a few hard lumps/lesions on my hands that get painful after a while when driving the Singer and I am thinking one may make things a bit comfier?

When I see a steering wheel with an after market cover I always think it is to cover up a bad (scratched) wheel. And I quite like the cool thin large diameter rims of old cars.
That said my TR4 has a cover. It was there when I bought the car in 1995 and I just never took it off. It is the type often found on cars that lived in the USA (my TR was imported from the USA in 1995). I do not mind the cover and have no plans to take it off. What's behind will remain a mystery

I had a leather cover made for my 1971 Kombi by a motor trimmer friend. The steering wheel rim was so thin that my finger tips actually poked into my palms when driving! On a journey it became very uncomfortable. The cover was padded out and increased the diameter enough to make driving far more pleasurable.
Normally I don't use them.

I also found a steering wheel too thin, it made it hard to grip it. I think it was on my XY Ford . I wound string around to increase the diameter . |
