Last year was a literal wash out with a wet weekend and a somewhat Somme like field, leading to this year's rally being relocated to a drier venue near the village of Eccleston. The day was red hot and there was quite a good turn out of commercials, Land Rovers and Tractors, but for a steam rally, Engines and Rollers were a bit thin on the ground on Sunday, when I visited, and although there was a good display of cars, we were left somewhat on the sidelines and not even mentioned in the programme!!!!
There were more recent classics at this show, with a large Jaguar display, a lot of Minis from a local club and various modern performance cars as well as a sprinkling of older stuff (we took the Citroen again).
Commercials had some nice vintage specimens although again, there were some more recent exhibits. My particular favourites were the pair of Austin K4's from a local owner.











Pink tractor!!!! AAAAAgh.



















All in all a good day out, however, and only just down the road so no marathon journeys for once.
