|
|
Afternoon all,
Last week - during the really hot weather - I pulled out the Dodge's trailer from where it's been stored away for the last few years.
I need to source a couple of tyres, as one blew quite spectacularly when I topped it up with air, I'd also like to source a spare wheel.
It's a five-stud fixing, fitted with 7.00 x 16 tyre. Could it be shared with a car/truck? and if so does anyone recognise the pattern of wheel? My guess is that it dates to the late 1940s/early 1950s, about the time that the trailer was beefed up and the suspension & wheels replaced.
Is/was BEC a common maker of trailer parts?

Global warming. It'll be our fault for burning fossil fuel.
Seems to be right across Europe. And I've got a huge mound of soggy cardboard and paper to deliver to the road in it because I'm a virtuous recycler as compelled the local Stasi sorry council. |

That wheel on your trailer looks very similar to those on Willys Jeeps.

Ellis I think you are right it is Willys. It appears that Rick's has the facility for a hub cap so it is probably off one of these or similar.
