|
|
Hi all,
I bought this clamp off ebay the other day on the understanding it was a spare wheel clamp for a Morris 8 series. It fits my car fine but unsure if it’s an original fitment item now very rare or an after market ad-on. I have looked at many Morris eights at shows and on the internet but have never seen one fitted to other cars, all other cars seem to use the leather belt.
Any information would be great, thanks, Paul

Early saloon models had a simple leather strap, later changed to a metal fitting with large knurled knob pressing a shaped tongue onto the tyre. I'm no expert on these since the open-bodied cars have a different arrangement, but the one shown looks nothing like either. What have you got at the moment? I believe your model should have the leather strap.

Pop to your nearest pet shop and buy a dog collar of suitable length.
Mine is black with nickel plated fittings. My dog is brown and lacks fittings.
