I have left this a bit late but my nearest and dearest wonders what to get me for Christmas.
She may as well get me the next thing on my list which is a timing strobe light. As the engine needs to have the advance measured at a specific RPM and the car has no tachometer, the obvious thing is to get one that measures RPM as well.
Any suggestions please?

There is one on Amazon.co.uk and several on .ca and .com which should give you a ball park £ figure.

If you're quick, the one below represents a reasonable stocking filler?

Something like this below is a cheap way to get a rev counter.......be careful if lighting up at night, however...it'll burn your retinas!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-52mm-12V-Car-Tachometer-Tach-Gauge-With-Holder-Cup-0-8000RPM-Blue-LED-Q9O2-/131826331756?hash=item1eb176306c:g:4lgAAOSwH6lXRA5L

A bit of wire for extension leads, and away you go. You could even bolt it to your toolbox lid!

The SP8000 at the bottom of the listing looks like what you want.
