NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN FOR NATIONAL CAR CLUB AWARDS 2017 IN ASSOCIATION WITH TOURISM IRELAND.
Nominations for the 2017 National Car Club Awards are now open! Held in association with Tourism Ireland, supported by Classic Car Weekly, and endorsed by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, clubs and their members have from 14th December 2016 until Monday 6th February to chose who they think should be recognised by the classic motoring community.
Dan Nwaokolo, Event Director, said: “The first awards exceeded everyone’s expectation with incredible feedback from the clubs, sponsors and the awards night attendees. 2017 will only build on that to create an awards programme that the industry can be proud of.”
Classic car club members and enthusiasts are invited to nominate in a choice of 16 categories that recognise and award the Classic Car Clubs, their devoted members and the cars they cherish - bringing together the classic car and vehicle community and personalities from all over the UK and Ireland.
The awards range from Best use of Social Media or Outstanding Club Event to the Unsung Hero and Club of the Year. Five awards on offer relate to the club activity within the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, held 31st March to 2nd April.
The event will also present a lifetime achievement award to a person who has dedicated significant time and effort to the classic car and vehicle community and achieved remarkable accomplishments that have helped the club and/or the classic car movement to grow and to develop.
The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at Birmingham’s NEC on Saturday 1st April, hosted alongside the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, with two members from every club shortlisted for an award invited to attend as guests of the National Car Club Awards and Tourism Ireland. Further tickets will be on sale for those also wishing to attend.
In 2017, the Awards will also present ‘Highly Commended’ acknowledgments. These ‘runner up’ awards will be presented at the Judges’ discretion.
The evening will include a drinks reception, three course seated dinner and awards presentation with plenty of socialising to be done afterwards. The dress code is smart casual (jackets please gentleman).
Nominations are now welcomed via an online form, closing on 6th February 2017. The shortlist will be revealed on 22nd February, after two days of intensive judging by the panel which includes FBHVC Chairman David Whale, Classic Car Weekly Editor David Simister, Practical Classics editor Danny Hopkins, and David Boyce, Deputy Director of Tourism Ireland.
