We are having brutal clear out as we just have too much stuff.
Can any one recommend some one to give me an idea on some toy car values?
We have sorted some out to go to an Autojumble next year but want to have some idea of what to ask.
One that is stumping us and Google is a
Morestone Series One Land Rover,
Looking on Ebay they are all over the place from £40-£400?

I don't know the model Landy, but scanning ebay (including items already sold) and other auctions online should give a fair idea. Then it comes down to the usual criteria, such as condition, completeness, and whether the original packaging survives, and if so, what condition that's in too.

As Rick says, condition including the original box, will make a vast difference to value.

My limited knowledge of the model would suggest that top price for the AA version is probably in the region of £100-120; tatty models with no box, perhaps £20. If it's the Military Police version, perhaps double these figures.

Just remember anything is only worth what someone is prepared to pay! As an example, I have what I believe is a very rare early motoring book. The only confirmed sale I have identified was in an auction about five years ago, at £300. There are two examples presently available - on Amazon and Abe Books - each at over £1,000; they are unsold at least three years after I first investigated prices. It is entirely possible the auction sale was to one of these traders anyway.

I tried my example on eBay, and it failed to raise a single bid starting at £100. That's fine, it's a nice book and it's worth £100 to me, so I'll keep it. But that doesn't make another copy worth the £1,000 asking price that a current search will reveal!

Its the military version, I have looked at the sold listings so going to ask £40 at the jumble and take a bit less or bundle it with some others.

I agree about the book, you can have things for years and not sell but then the right person comes along!
I have a similar tale about two Butlers Map lights I have, they sell for £60 on a regular basis but I can't shift mine!

Its true something is only worth what someone will pay. Just recently when I was visiting my Brother he was telling me about his plan to sell on his miltary 110 Land Rover, he was saying he hopes to get about £4k for it. My brother-in-law then piped in that its worth at least £6k cause they are on ebay for that. My Brother though is a realist, he knows how much it is truly worth andcis thinking about it sensibly.

Far too often now we see things hang round for ages on ebay cause they are priced so high. I must admit my search for a front grill for my a Ford 7w has been the victim of inflated prices. One chap at Beaulieu had one and wanted a grand for it, I asked if he'd take an offer on it and he said no. It was on his stall for 4 September autojumbles, so surely he may as well have taken an offer.

Looks like I will be Ebaying some of my collectables as I need the space and to be honest the cash welcome in handy
