I'm pretty sure it's a 1953 Monstrosity Estate Car. I suspect the windscreen is off an older car though.

Almost certainly German, looks like a two-stroke; I thought it might be a Lloyd, but I can't find one with these details, so probably not. There's an Isetta and a Goggomobile in the hedge next to it.

That looks spot on, Rick.

However, I wonder what the engine is? The earliest Crosley was an air-cooled flat twin, so it's not that; and it doesn't look like either the Cobra or CIBA engines, both of which were 4 cylinder water-cooled, but with an overhead cam with a vertical drive like a pre-war Morris Minor...

Where were the photos taken - do we know?

Engine has the looks of an old ford sidevalve.
Bottom hose position, front chain cover with lug for engine mount, oil filler and dynamo location all look like my old e93 engine.

Good spot - that looks very like it.

So, if as I suspect, the photos were taken in Germany, a transplant from a Ford Eifel is quite possible.

Must confess I've never heard of Crosley. Crossley yes but not Crosley. Off to Google it now. Smile

Isn't the car on the right of the picture a 1937 Ford Pick up?

I can't think what else had that many horizontal louvres in it's radiator shell with such a narrow vertical bar.

In the close up photo of the dash, I notice 'Crosley Motors' is faintly visible on the instrumental board.

...and isn't that an Austin A30 next to the Crosley with a bumper from a VW Beetle? I would say it is an A30 (rather than A35) because of the small rear window.
