|
|
Hello,
I am rebuilding a 54 Healey and am coming close to painting the inner bodywork and need to select the paint type and supplier. I want to paint the inner bodywork and the underside of the outer body panels myself and get the final top coat on the exterior bodywork done professionally. I have no idea what type of top coat should be used or where I can source it from. The car will be Healey Blue which is a light metallic blue colour so a base and lacquer coat is needed.
Any views on the best route forward warmly received. |

Ask the AH club or one of the marque specialists for the paint codes. |

I probably wasn't clear, I am interested to know what type of paint people think I should use. I know where to look for the code. |

If you're planning on having the final top coat applied at a bodyshop, it would make some sense to talk to the bodyshop and see what they advise. It would be awful to spend a lot of time using a recommendation from here, however well-intentioned, only to find that it's incompatible with whatever the top coat will be. |
