Hi all,

I was thinking earlier about Triumph 2000s and how prevalent they seemed to be in north Wales, well into the late 1980s when we used to over there quite regularly. They seemed to be really common, same for Moggy Minors in the same area. Whereas back home, neither turned up very often at that time.

Whether this was down to particular dealers that served the area, or perhaps people retiring to coastal towns and taking their ageing cars with them, I'm not sure!!?!?

You may also have noticed the large number of Rover P6's - Rover 2000, 2200 and 3.5 V8 models.
In a previous post some years ago I listed all the BL garages within a thirty mile radius of my home village. I tried searching for the post now and I couldn't find it but there were many.
Brand and dealer loyalty accounted, I believe, largely for the numbers.
There were more Morris Minors in Betws y Coed in the 1960s and 1970s than any other model including Morris 1100, Ford Anglias or Minis.

As a general observation in the 1960s there were more Farina Oxbridges in the area than anything else although Hillman Minxes were abundant as well despite less Rootes dealerships.
