|
|
I remember it being a bone of contention within the pre-war Morris world, that OHC Minors were VSCC eligible but the sidevalve versions were not (despite post-1930 chrome-rad Austin 7s being eligible).
Has this now changed? I've seen a couple of sv Minors advertised recently that state they're now suitable for use in VSCC trials, tests etc.
Not that I plan competing or anything ever, but I just wondered if this is in fact the case now?

I presume the change has been driven by club members?
For anyone outside the club the change seems odd because the VSCC have always been keen that the definition of a "vintage" car is one that was built pre 1931.
I suggest that significant changes to the fundamentals brings the whole point of the club into question. |

"3. The VSCC's aim is to promote amateur competition for its members using cars constructed before 1931,
or (in certain cases) before 1961 or using a conglomeration of components from specified cars built before
1941. " _________________ https://www.nostalgiatech.co.uk

VSCC eligibility is explained here, looks like it hasn't changed since 2007:

So, what's the issue? I would not have thought a side valve Morris Minor could be considered a PVT? ....then what do I know? |
