Your photo made me smile and think of a rather comic moment in 1970. At Portchester there used to be a Vospers and opposite a C&A factory, with a small road alongside heading due north away from the sea. There is (or was) a tiny bridge there, about 6' or so tall, and certainly too small for a Transit to go under. I was turning off the A27 to head north in the company Moggie, only to espy another Moggie in the form of an ice cream van coming the other way. I flashed him to warn him but he only took that as an invitation to have the right of way, so he carried gaily on, finally leaving the complete (read shattered) ice cream section behind on the road and he being at the wheel of a cab-only Moggie. |
