So finally after a couple of very tense weeks of yes and no, can we, cant we, we are packing the van up and on our way to pick up the keys to our new house.

If house moving is one of the most stressful times of your life it has become even more given the current situation!

I have a very large van from work which I have for 3 days so as its only my wife and I allowed to do the move we can spread the heavy lifting out.

The plan is to move the 47 Hillman the half a mile to the new house on Sunday.

Good luck with your move.
I hate to think of ever having to move again. With a bit of luck that will not be needed.

Good luck with the move, I wondered how you were getting on after you mentioned this last week.

Good luck with moving.

We had planned to put our house on the market about now with an intention to move from West Northants to Cheltenham.....clearly that’s on hold now till, I recon, this time next year.

Move still going slowly but some progress made.

Its just the wife and I doing the full move, hard work today doing all the big furniture, sofas, washing machine, sideboards etc.

One bonus today though was driving our 47 Minx to the new house, its only about half a mile though at the other end of the village.

Hopefully you will be happy with your new home. Yes, it is stressful, but no doubt you will look back on this time and smile.

Finally all done and moved, so much harder just being the two of us. I would usually have loads of family help.

In the end I have had to also use our car shed for storage and to leave all the rubbish bags as our local tip is now closed due to the current situation.

Good news!

When we moved we also did the move ourselves. To make life easier towing trailers and so on, I bought a silver Volvo 760GLE estate with a gearbox fault (auto). It turned out to be low on fluid, once topped-up it was fine. The best £125 I ever spent, and we sold it for £100 after we'd finished.

I dread the thought of moving again ...

RJ

(a minute after posting this, what should drive by but a silver 740/760 estate ... spooky)
