I am a little surprised with everything else closed and us still being advised to stay home if possible etc.
Everything around us is cancelled for the summer. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Yes, the local town market is re-opening next week; as Rick says, it will be interesting to see how 'social distancing' works in such a situation. _________________ in the garage: 1938 Talbot Ten Airline

It will be interesting to see how succesful it is. There seem to be two schools of thought here, one says that the masses will still be too alarmed to consider going to such an event, (borne out by the resistance to sending kids back to school) the other suggests that people are so sick of lockdown that they will shake off the shackles and go to wherever is open, (witness the numbers at Blackpool and Southport last weekend).
A friend of ours who is a pub/restaurant owner thinks that the former is likely. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

I was at Snetterton race circuit yesterday for a trackday. Social distance stictly in operation. Seemed to go off OK with people observing rules well.
Autojumble I can live without for now. |

I work in a manufacturing company, around 100 staff before this all started.
We are now down to 31 staff due to furloughing and this week they have announced the redundancy consultaions have started. We have very strict social distancing rules in place and you are sent home unpaid and disciplined if you are cought not following this. I liken it to a scene from a film.
To go from that to being allowed to mix outdoors at an event to me at this time to be too soon. I have witnessed even in Tesco doing the shopping that many people do not observe distancing and get quite obusive when challeged.
I do love our events and autojumbles but for me at the moment its keep my job, keep the family safe and work on the vehicles in private down the shed.
Each to their own, thats just my opinion. We will all see things differntly. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |
