If this was the Beverley that stood in beverley Transport Museum all those years ago...it was a fine trip round I had...like going into a block of flats that flew...

Amazing the link to Fort Paull....30 miles from the twenytown of Bridlington...but a few miles from the big city of Hull....

Reminds me, that Amazon USA thinks I live just outside Durham.
Instead of 19 miles east of York! [Durham is in another time zone as far as I'm concerned]

Completely off topic, but my Dad used to go on about his OEC Blackburn motorcycle with a whittle belt. Strangely, right up until the late 80s, there was an advertisement for the company on the wall of a house in Twyford Avenue Portsmouth. I never did get to take a photo of it though.

The Beverley sold for £21k, I read somewhere that a) it's going to be restored and b) it's not moving too far away from its current home. So hopefully the future is looking assured for this lone survivor of the breed.

That's right Rick, the Beverley has been sold locally and is going to be preserved.

We followed the auction and a few friends in our military circle placed bids. It was a strange one really, the Museum had really let things go. Mainly through storage, so much of it was stored in the damp and you can imagine the effect on all that old material.
