yes we locals are hoping to see this venture work.
i have spoken to the owner last year and it sounded great, he said he had about 60 cars ready for it and work had started on the building.
i wish him well |

I've got a few car friends who live about 20 minutes from Taunton. Will be interested to hear more as it progresses, do share! |

I went past it today. The old warehouse is still standing (just) but it's condition is more dilapidated than ever. It looks very vulnerable despite it's vast size. Since an arso attack there is no glass in the windows and it is open to the skies. It can't last much longer before it becomes beyond saving - that is if it isn't already. Perhaps the reason the museum idea failed was because the building is now beyond economical repair.? |

The Derby venture failed because:
1. The Council wanted too many restrictions. Planning took forever.
2. They were trying to part finance it from classic storage and restoration workshop.
3. They didn't start out with a big enough budget and then ran out of dosh, mainly because of 1.
It was pretty much doomed from the start.

We drove past Haynes Motor Museum yesterday, what a huge complex that has grown into. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Might head down to the Helicopter Museum run to take a look. We have a wartime event down at Minehead in a couple of weeks but not sure if we will take the car yet. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Hi
A couple of weeks from now? Sounds like that is going to be a Battle of Britain day.
I wonder how many of them there will be this year. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

The second weekend in September is usually the West Somerset Raileays 1940s weekend. Its lovely with each station along the line holding events.
This year though due to the current situation its not being held but we are meeting for a smaller 'meet' up at Minehead station. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |
