... all will be revealed in the short vid below, it's quite old, quite dusty, and a little charmer I think.

I'll do a proper look around it when the weather improves.

They were only the excess ends of the straps looped around the bumpers, fear not!!!! It was properly secured to the trailer by its axles!!
The plan is to go through the mechanicals and see how they are, and preserve the exterior finish as best as is possible. A member here has good connections with regard to finding parts, so his inbox will no doubt be receiving a message or two imminently.

That's a little gem!
My Dad had one of those. As a small child I used to sit on his lap and steer. The road was unadopted in those days and I remember how I used to try and steer around the puddles!
As a family we used to go on holiday in a Morris 8. When we eventually got down to the Lizard peninsular we were all pretty exhausted.!
My Dad used to say it was the best car he ever had....but then he would say that about all his old cars!!
I am looking forward to getting some updates! |

Looks a nice find, though I reckon the "bumpy" private road to the farm looked better than many a council road round these parts... |

Had a bit of a move around today, so while it was outside I took a few more photos of the Morris. I've done a few light cosmetic improvements to it, just to improve on the original look it has, without spoiling anything. A walk-around vid will follow soon, for now though here are a few photos now that it's back at base, and has had a quick wash.

That is incredible Rick! How did you find that, hard to believe something that good was still hiding.
Totally appropriate that the Morry ends up in your care.

I agree with you John. That really is quite an exceptionally nice, unspoilt example. Sometimes the right car does end up with the right person and that is what has happened here.
I can't see Rick getting anywhere near it with a spray gun. If I come across any hub caps they will be donated... |

Morning all,
As promised (threatened!?), here's the walk-around vid which shows some of its good and less-good bits, overall though it's a little cracker.
https://youtu.be/nvWynbeL0xs
Added: the BIG question is though - old seat covers, keep or remove? I've no idea how good or bad the original coverings are ...
Added: indicated mileage is 07377. I wonder how many times it's been around the clock?

What state are the pedals in? A high mileage seems unlikely but you could perhaps look at the pedals and see how worn they are?.
(I can't seem to find the post where I said) those seat covers are the same as were fitted to the 1958 Austin A55 Cambridge when I got it. When I removed them I found the seats were covered in dust so the seats and the fabric covers were cleaned to protect the leather stitching from grit.
I would keep the covers on. I don't know for sure but they might be bespoke covers tailored to fit your car!? They are part of it's history after all.
Perhaps enquire with your local dry cleaners to see if they could clean them? |
