That takes me back!
I think the fuel consumption of the 948 A35 was actually better than the 803 A30. That could of course be down to the driver
I noticed a significant reduction in economy, however, when I fitted the 1098 engine with high lift cam and twin carbs!!
In order to be able to afford the trip from Woking to North London every week I had to reinstate the original A30 manifold and carb. I think I used to average 30 mpg which at the time I thought was good considering the improvement in performance. |
