I see one of my car's grandchildren had to be ignominiously propelled along the Mall by human power rather than horse power.

I saw that too, I’m willing to bet it was heat related based on the slow crawl they had to do for the whole parade, rotor arm would be high on the list of suspects.

So was this a case of the Jubilee appearance scuppered by the Chinese copy parts? I do hope we get a follow up on what went wrong. Great though that it didn't have to be hauled away on a trailer, but completed the course (presumably) by human power intervention.

I am certain that I caught a glimpse (watched on tele) of the car smoking fairly heavily just prior to the breakdown. The smoke was black, I commented to my wife it’s smoking like a diesel powered car! Running overly rich?
Either way rather a pity.

Interestingly that car is for sale; the advert refers to the Jubilee appearance at which 'it performed without fault'!

I posted something like that... and then cancelled it ...because I began to wonder if the result would be an overly rich mixture or just a flooded carb? It has been so long since I experienced such a problem that I can't remember.

I suppose it depends on what type of carb it is?

That a different Jaguar, the one that broke down had Pru Leith in it, the one for sale had Twiggy as the passenger.

Different car!

The one which broke down has a black hood. Apparently an electrical fault.

Definitely NOT Twiggy.

Arlene Philips' car blew smoke into Twiggy's car (travelling behind) but that was not the one that broke down. The car for sale has Arlene Philips in it; not Twiggy.
