Hi y'all - hoping for some help on identifying a Smiths fuel gauge I'm currently working on. It's part of a 3-gauge cluster, oil temp and fuel. The needle waves about but when power is applied goes straight to the extreme left - beyond 'E' - and stays there regardless of polarity. The temperature gauge moves slowly to hot so I assume the gauge is stabilised. I want to replace the fuel part only, marking on the face is X.86080/1 - does anyone have a reference for the gauges and can identify the origin? It's going into a Herald, the temp gauge was a straight replacement from the Herald to this casing, but not the fuel. I reckon repair may be beyond me, unless it's something simple. I've found the face only on eBay, link below, but no gauge. Grateful for all advice and help!
